6 Ways to See Who Added You or Added You Back on Snapchat
Snapchat allows you to look up your friends via your contact list or find them separately in the app. You can then add them to your friends list. The same goes for your friends as well. But can you see who added you or added you back on Snapchat? Let’s find out.
Adding someone as a friend on Snapchat is a two-way street. This means you need to accept someone’s friend request or wait for someone to accept yours to access certain app features. So, let us look at how you can see who added you or added you back on the Snapchat Android and iOS apps.
1. By Checking Add Notifications
When someone adds you to their friend’s list on Snapchat, an alert is visible in the notifications window. Or, if you currently have the app open, it should appear as a banner on top of the Snapchat app window. This alert is only temporary and will disappear after a while.
This is an excellent way to see who recently added you to their Snapchat friends list. Please note this notification will only appear if you have notifications enabled for the Snapchat app on your mobile.
Tip: Check our explainers if you’re having trouble receiving notifications on the Snapchat Android or iOS apps.
2. Using Add Friends Section
Snapchat lets you see potential mutual friends to add to your friends list quickly. On this page, you will also see someone who has added you on Snapchat, but don’t know who it is. It’s a great way to track who adds you to their friend list, regardless of when they added you. Here’s how to see it.
Step 1: Open the Snapchat app and tap on the Chat icon.
Step 2: Once the Chat window opens, tap on the add friend icon in the top-right corner.
Step 3: Here, check the Added Me section.
Tip: If you can’t see this section, look for users with the Accept option in front of them.
The friends visible here are the ones who have recently added you to their friend list. If you want, tap on Accept to add them back on Snapchat.
3. Through the Chat Window
Snapchat allows you to send a Snap to your friends easily. This is helpful when maintaining Snapchat Streaks. Using this, you can check who has added you and is now your friend on Snapchat. Follow the below steps to do it.
Step 1: Open Snapchat and tap on the Chat icon.
Step 2: Scroll through the visible users in the Chat window and locate the relevant one.
Step 3: Look for the camera icon in front of it.
This means this user is your Snapchat friend, and you can directly send them Snaps on Snapchat.
4. By Sending Them a Message
Your Snapchat message window is an excellent way to gauge who has added you or added you back to their friends list. You can use this to interact with the other users to see who they are if they have added you or ask them to add you back. Here’s how to do it.
Step 1: Open Snapchat and tap on the Chat icon.
Step 2: Here, scroll through the Chat window and tap on the relevant user. Or tap on the magnifying glass icon if they’re not visible.
Step 3: Now search for and tap on the relevant user.
Note: You might be redirected to the profile page for certain users not yet on your friends list.
Step 4: Once the message window opens, check beside the user’s name.
If an add user icon is visible, they have added you to their friends list on Snapchat. If this icon is not visible, they have added you back on Snapchat.
Using your settings menu, you can see all your current Snapchat friends. This is a good way to know if someone added you back on Snapchat as once done, they will appear in your friend’s list. Follow the below steps to view it on the Snapchat mobile app.
Step 1: Open Snapchat and tap on your bitmoji icon in the top-left corner.
Step 2: Once your profile page opens, scroll down and tap on My Friends.
Now, scroll through your list of friends to see who has added you back on Snapchat.
6. Using Snap Map
Once someone has added you back or if you have accepted their friend request, they should be visible on your Snap Map. This is a great way to see who your friends are and where they are. Please note this feature will not work if your friend has Ghost Mode enabled. Here’s how to do it.
Step 1: Open Snapchat and tap on the Map icon.
Step 2: Now, look at the Snap Map and locate your friends.
Step 3: If you cannot find them, tap on Friends.
Now, manually find the friend and see where they are currently on your Snap Map on Snapchat.
Tip: You can also go onto someone’s Snapchat profile and check their Snapscore. It should be visible if they have added you back on Snapchat.
